House in Las Rozas
The last plot on a housing estate on the outskirts of Madrid, on a slope next to a protected holm oak grove in the Guadarrama riverbed, allowed us to test out a compact house resulting from assembling thirteen volumes of different proportions illuminated via a single repeated opening. A construction system with a steel structure and inverted enclosure, efficient from an energy point of view, finished in cement-timber boards, gives the house an ambiguous character, between a tectonic construction and a hut, around which pivot the different outdoor platforms and gardens that connect the house with the landscape.
